Board automations
Let Lovox handle repetitive actions. When something happens to a task, it assigns a person, changes the status, adds a label or sends a notification. No coding needed: a rule takes two steps to set up.
Why use automations
Less manual work
Lovox does the actions you repeat dozens of times a day.
Nothing gets forgotten
A reviewer gets assigned and the right person gets notified, even if someone forgot.
Everyone works the same way
Tasks go through the same steps, no matter who handles them.
How it works
- Step 1
Open board settings
The board menu has an “Automation” item.
- Step 2
Choose an event
For example, a task moved to the “In review” status.
- Step 3
Choose an action
For example, add a reviewer to the task.
- Step 4
Save the rule
From then on, it runs by itself every time the event happens.
Rule examples
Assign a reviewer
A task moves to “In review”, and a reviewer is added right away.
Remind about the due date
A task’s due date arrives, and the manager gets a notification.
Call everyone for urgent work
A task gets the “Urgent” label, and everyone on the board gets a notification.
Start work
An assignee is added to a task, and it moves to “In progress” by itself.
Return to the queue
The assignee is removed from a task, and it goes back to “New”.
Mark as delivered
A task moves to “Done”, and it gets the “Delivered to client” label.
What can trigger a rule
A rule runs when one of five events happens to a task on the board.
- A task moves to another status: any status or a selected one.
- A task’s due date arrives.
- A task gets a label: any label or a selected one.
- An assignee is added to a task: anyone or a specific person.
- An assignee is removed from a task: anyone or a specific person.
What a rule does
When the event happens, the rule does one of four actions.
- Assigns people: adds, removes or replaces assignees.
- Moves the task to the status you need.
- Adds a label.
- Sends a notification with your own text: to assignees, watchers, a specific person or everyone on the board.
- One rule does one action. If you need two actions, create two rules.
Rules under control
All board rules are in one list. Each rule shows which event triggers it and what it does.
- Pause a rule and turn it back on later.
- Edit or delete any rule.
- The board feed and task history show when a change was made by an automation.
- Rules move with the board template.

Questions about automations
Do I need to code to set up a rule?
No. In the board settings, choose an event and an action. For example, when a task moves to the “In review” status, the rule adds a reviewer.
Can one rule do several actions?
One rule does one action. For several actions, create separate rules with the same event.
Can I stop an automation?
Yes. In the board’s rule list, you can pause a rule, turn it back on, edit it or delete it.
